*** An important message for all our friends and clients during lockdown ***
At this time, we all have an obligation to minimise the spread of Covid-19 and as vets we also have an obligation to support equine welfare and the UK equine industry.
Our governing bodies have now issued new COVID-19 guidelines supporting the provision of a full ambulatory service. However, to continue to provide this safely, we must INSIST ON ADHERENCE to our COVID-19 guidelines:
All clients present at visits MUST be wearing a mask or face covering and adhere to social distancing.
On yard visits where there are multiple horses and multiple owners to be seen, ONE YARD REPRESENTATIVE must assist the vet in order to reduce contacts - We are able to speak to clients before and after the visit if they want to speak directly to the vet.
If anyone has been in contact with a COVID-19 positive person or is required to self-isolate, they must not attend the appointment.
In certain circumstances where social distancing cannot be maintained, or other factors such as horse behaviour make procedures unsafe, our vets may choose to sedate your horse or use assistance from other members of our practice team 'bubble'.
These are such difficult and unprecedented times, we want to thank you all for your support, understanding and cooperation. We will still be able to come and provide treatment and support to your horses and we are always on the end of the phone to help.
Our thoughts are with all the individuals and businesses who are being adversely affected by both this third lockdown, and of course by COVID-19 itself.
Best wishes over the next few weeks from all of us at NWEV.
